296!!!

Yep you read that right, Addison's platelet counts were up to 296 today when we went to Texas Childrens! This is really good and means she is finally back in the normal range (250-450 is normal). Even Dr. Lakshmi had a big smile on her face when she got the results. We have not seen a high number like this since she was in the NICU and only a couple of weeks old so it is really exciting to see such a high number. Dr. Lakshmi wants us to come back in 3 months to make sure her counts are staying in the normal range but if they are still good then we can stop making the trip to TCH every other month! For now we are just going to celebrate the good numbers!

2nd Annual Maurer's Hayride

We are so glad the Maurer's decided to make their good ole' fashion hayride an annual event. I have to say the hayride was much more enjoyable this year with three happy babies, what a difference a year makes. They enjoyed seeing the cows, horses, and puppy dogs along the ride. Addison was a little questionable at first hanging on tight to Daddy but she eventually relaxed. Bryce sat there like a big boy and Collin stood most of the time taking it all in. The weather was perfect and spending the evening with good friends was great!

The boys being boys! They enjoyed playing in the rocks after the hayride, I think we have several rocks to return to the Maurer's, their shoes were full of rocks!

This weekend was a perfect weekend for tailgating despite the Aggies loss. The babies did great even without a nap and played hard all day long.

16 Months Old

I know I'm way behind on this but we have been on the go since we started feeling better. At 16 months the babies are all climbing and love to stand on the couch and watch out the window. They love to play with Mommy and Daddy's computers and iPhones, and are using a fork to eat (sometimes its still easier to use our fingers). We are working on switching to sippy cups but we are struggling with the change. I think its just as hard for me to make the change because its so easy to stick to our routine of using the bottles but we are working on it and will hopefully be bottle free soon! I will make a more detailed update next week when we go to the doctor for our check up and shots but for now I wanted to post their 16 month picture.

Stomach Bug

We have been very fortunate that the babies have never been really sick, maybe the occasional fever from shots or teething but nothing major. This weekend our luck ran out and the stomach bug hit all of us hard! Friday night it hit Addison and we were up with her til 4:00 in the morning. Saturday she was much better and everyone else seemed to be fine. Sunday morning everyone was still okay so we thought the rest of us were going to be fine. No such luck, Sunday evening it hit Steven about thirty minutes later it hit Bryce, Collin wasn't looking too well and I felt bad myself so I made the calls for HELP! By the time help arrived Collin was throwing up and shortly after it hit me. For about 6 hours all four of us were very sick! Next time the bug hits this house I hope that it doesn't hit us all at the same time but thank goodness we had Grandpa, Myrna, Granny and Papa here to help out. Well we all survived and today we are all finally feeling better, just pray that all of our helpers stay well and don't catch it!

Go Cubs!

It's homecoming week in Brenham so we got out to support the Cubs this week. Tuesday we took the babies to watch cousin Blake's football game. The babies lasted through the whole game with the help of food of course. Collin clapped for our team and the visiting team. Addison watched the cheerleaders and Bryce couldn't sit still and went from one person to the next.

Wednesday we went downtown to watch the homecoming parade.

Addison is a smart little girl and figured out she didn't have to chase after the candy, cousin Tegan left a pile right there on the sidewalk for her!

Then Aunt Dee took the wrapper off and let Addison get her first taste of a lollipop!

Scarecrows

Saturday we took the babies to see the scarecrows downtown. Bryce had a blast and ran around laughing and screaming with excitement. Collin was curious and Addison was scared and not interested!
