Happy Thanksgiving!
We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Steven and I had a great weekend and have so much to be thankful for. We are most thankful that our prayers have been answered and we are PREGNANT! It has been a long 3+ years of many ups and downs. After several fertility treatments, surgeries and disappointments, our dreams have finally come true. It is still fairly early (Monday will be 7 weeks) but I have been monitored very closely and everything seems to be going good. The IVF (invitro)process consisted of 50+ shots, several pills, many ultrasounds and regular bloodwork. This was something that we never thought we would do but we knew it was something that we had to try before we gave up and considered other options. We are blessed that this process worked for us the first time and can't wait to see if we should expect a baby or babies!

Homecoming 2008
Its hard to believe but Steven's sister Lindsey is a senior in high school this year. I still remember her as a little girl running around at Steven's baseball games but she is all grown up now and beautiful! This week she was in the homecoming court so we had the homecoming parade on Wednesday(yes, in the rain), the pep rally Friday afternoon and of course the game Friday night. She looked beautiful and had a lot of fun! I've posted a slideshow of some pictures from the week. We could not be more proud of her for all of her accomplishments and look forward to watching her enjoy her senior year! Next year she will be following in her brothers foot steps and attending Texas A&M. Whoop!
Saturday we helped Steven's other sister Alison and her husband Kevin move back to Brenham. It was a long day of moving but we got it all done and we are so excited to have them back in town!

Scarecrows and pumpkins
Saturday, Steven and I bravely took all three nephews and our niece to look at the scarecrows in downtown Brenham and buy and decorate pumpkins. They loved checking out the scarecrows but were not too fond of taking pictures with them. Buying pumpkins became more of a challenge because all four kiddos just started grabbing for pumpkins, we had pumpkins tumbling everywhere. Luckily the ones that fell to the ground did not bust open! When we got to the house we decided craving the pumpkins would not be a good idea so we painted them, which still may have not been the best idea but it was washable paint. After it was all over Steven and I question each other like "what were we thinking" but we also know that they will not always be this excited to spend time with Uncle Steven and Aunt Adrienne so we really enjoy getting the opportunity to do these things with them!

Surgery Update
Well surgery was a little rough yesterday. I'm not sure if it was the fact that she did two surgeries in one(so it took a little longer) or if they gave me too much anesthesia. In recovery I became very nauseous. They gave me a shot to help with the nausea but I still threw up a couple of times until I started to dry heave. Not fun after being cut on in the abdomen. Then to top it off the nurse suggested I not take pain pills because she thought it would make me sicker. So I went about 30 hours with out eating or taking pain pills. Today is a little better because my stomach is not so upset and I'm actually able to take pain pills and eat a little. The doctor was able to remove the endometrioma and reported to Steven afterwards that "it is just bad luck if it comes back again"! So I pray that my "luck" changes soon. She did find 3 more spots of endometriosis that she removed and she left the fibroid because it was in my muscle which she said would take major surgery to remove. Lets just hope that we don't have to do that.
Other than that I have to thank my wonderful husband who held back my hair and held my "bucket". He told me later that it is true love because he has never watched someone throw up before. He was a real trooper and I think he can handle more than he thinks. I also want to thank my family and friends who kept me in your prayers.

We are still alive!
I know its been a really long time since I updated my blog but we are still alive! I am loving my new job as a content mastery teacher and Steven is the best Asst. Principal I know. In fear of what the hurricane may do we did some preparations and had my sister and her whole family spend the night for a pajama party. They live in an older house that is surrounded by trees so they felt safer here. The boys played play station most of the night and we all ate lots of snacks and junk food. Luckily the weather was not as bad as we anticipated and we never lost power, which is very fortune considering everyone around us is still without power(Navasota, Somerville, Hempstead, etc.) In the Brenham area the majority of damage was downed trees and limbs. Now I just hope that we will have gas and food supplies since supplies will mostly go to the houston area first.
Our favorite resturant Mariachi's boarded up and we considered riding out the storm there but after one Rita Steven decided it was time to get me home!
Steven showing the boys the right way to play play station (thats what he said anyway)!
Other than that we have been dealing with my health issues (again) which seems like a hurricane in itself! After just having surgery in June I will again have surgery to remove another enodmetrioma that grew back less than a month after my doc took it out in June. My surgery will be out patient next Tuesday so keep me in your prayers that it will go away for good this time and this is the last surgery I will have to go through for a while (I don't do good with being put to sleep)!!! Then hopefully we will be able to move on with our plan of having babies;)

Steven's New Job
We have been so busy with school starting I haven't had a chance to update everyone. Steven is now an Assistant Principal Intern for Brenham Elementary School. It is kind of a complicated schedule but he is working at Brenham Elementary school in the morning and he teaches in the afternoons at high school. This will be his schedule the first half of the year and the second half of the year he will be at high school all day and coaching baseball again. So far he is really enjoying it, we will see how it goes when the students arrive next week!!!

So sad summer break is coming to an end!
Well its been a long time since I posted but school is just around the corner and I am realizing there are so many things I wanted to get done before school starts so our house has been project central. Steven got the wise idea to put a sprinkler system in our yard forgeting that it is the middle of JULY!!! I've been painting everything, cleaning the house/closets, and working in my classroom at school. I am moving classrooms so it has been a chore moving furniture, etc. This week I have inservice days, the Magnolia Luncheon, and hope to finish all of my projects. Teachers go back to school next week Thursday :( I can not believe the summer has already come and gone. Oh well, I guess I should look at the bright side, the sooner we go back the sooner we get out again! I hope everyone had a great summer! Now that school is almost here I'm sure my post will slow down, our life is pretty borning when we don't have time off(and sometimes when we do have time off) so I probably would not have anything exciting to post anyway.

Fishing with the kids!
Thursday we went fishing with our niece and nephews! We caught several fish and the kids were so excited. Dalton's goal is to catch enough to have a fish fry. I'm not sure if I want to eat the fish after I saw them being cleaned.

Brandon thought his fish just fell off everytime he just reeled in his bobber. He never realized he didn't have a hook on his pole. It was really cute!
This is part of the big catch, one or two already got cleaned.

We're finally back home!
We are finally back in Brenham! We had a long drive home on Wednesday. We detoured to see my grandparents, which was nice, even if it was for a brief time. Since we've been home we have tried to relax but we have played catch up on everything around the house. Thursday we celebrated our 4th anniversary by going to the Woodlands to eat. Saturday we had a slumber party with our niece and nephews, yes all four of them (Dalton 10, Colton 5, Tegan 3, and Brandon 2)! We had fun swimming, watching movies, and of course eating. Most importantly Steven and I both survived but were relieved when their mom and dad came to pick them up! Overall the kids were really good and Steven and I really enjoyed having them over!!!!!

4th of July Weekend
I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We celebrated in Muleshoe, which was surprisingly a lot of fun. Myrna and Alan came up for a visit and to see what Muleshoe was like. Friday started with a parade, of course they had a few tractors driving down the street, one family reunion on a couple of floats, but a lot of cute kids! I posted a couple of pictures of the parade. After the parade they have talent shows, limbo contest, and several booths and businesses open for shopping. Myrna and myself opted for the shopping and skipped the talent show and limbo contest. Then of course the night was ended by fireworks in the park. I hope everyone had a great 4th!

This kid was a really good unicyclist!
Cute kids!
Of course there were tractors!
This guy was cute but I felt bad b/c when he waved at us he ran into the curb!
The next two pictures are funny because this was the order they came in the parade. First came the Nursing Home Residents followed by the EMS!
Myrna and Alan with the Mule!
Watching the fireworks!
Saturday we all took a trip to Earth its only about a 20 minute drive from Muleshoe. Well come to find out Earth is a pretty boring place but we found a lot of humor in the signs around town!

Starting to feel better!
Well we are back in Muleshoe! The doctor said it was okay so here we are. Steven's working and I am taking it easy in the hotel room with my new friend Vicodin! The doctor removed the cyst and also found endometriosis that she removed. She said the endometriosis could have been why the cyst wasn't going away and it could have been what caused our little emergency room visit a month ago. Thank you for everyone that was concerned or kept me in their prayers.

We love Muleshoe, TX!!!!
Well Steven and I are now in Muleshoe, Tx! Steven took a summer job working hail claims and we were sent to Muleshoe last Friday. For those of you that don't know, Muleshoe is located north of Lubbock and about 30 miles from Clovis, NM. The most exciting thing about this town is the world's largest mule shoe(see attached photo, I know you will be amazed)! We have only been here for four days and we have already seen several storms that are nothing like the storms we would see in Brenham. On the drive up here we encountered a dust storm with 65mph winds and hail. I thought Steven was going to turn around and head back to Brenham but we sat at a gas station for two hours and let it pass. Other than the storms Muleshoe is not a very exciting town. The hotel is a dump and our choice of restaurants are limited to a McD's, a homestyle restaurant, and pizza. I don't even like shopping at Walmart but there is not even a Walmart in Muleshoe, its 30 minutes away in Clovis. But looking at the bright side at least we aren't spending everything we make. We do plan to come home for a few days while I have my surgery Thursday. We are hoping that both of us will get to come back after that but it will depend on what my doctor says. I'll keep you posted on where we are next!

Our trip to the Big Easy!
Last week was my parents last week in New Orleans so we took a trip to visit and take in the sites! This was my first trip to New Orleans. Steven has been before but this was the first time he was able to take in some of the sites besides the French Quarter. Since my parents have been there for a while they were able to show us some of the areas of the city that are still not rebuilt, it is really sad and amazing that the water got that high. Other than that we took a dinner cruise on the Steamboat Natchez, went on a swamp tour, and visited the Oak Alley Plantation (beautiful trees). We of course did a little gambling, I won't say how much I won or how much Steven lost! The French Quarter was definitely an eye opener and a little stinky too! We saw several movies being filmed, too bad we didn't see any real movie stars up close. We also took a quick trip to Biloxi, MS one day while dad met with a client. We spent some time at the Beau Rivage and drove along the beach.
New Blogger
Since I love to read blogs from my friends I decided I should create one for Steven and I. Well not that Steven really cares but I'm sure I will have post about him too. I'm not sure how to do everything yet but I am learning now that I have the summer to play!
